Hello everyone, thank you for following my channel. I’m JEMBON. In today’s episode, I want to talk about gum recession. Gum recession usually occurs after the age of 40, but younger people can also encounter this problem. Now, I will explain in detail why gum recession occurs. Okay, without further ado, let’s talk about what gum recession is. There are actually several causes of gum recession. Firstly, many times gum recession is due to incorrect brushing methods. An indication of incorrect brushing is often the use of a hard-bristled toothbrush. After brushing with a hard-bristled toothbrush, you might feel refreshed, thinking that soft-bristled toothbrushes don’t clean effectively. However, in reality, long-term use of hard-bristled toothbrushes can stimulate or even damage the gums, leading to bleeding and chronic inflammation, and eventually causing gum recession. Therefore, especially for those older than 40, it is recommended to use a soft-bristled toothbrush, brushing gently and massaging the gums.

Another important factor is the choice of toothpaste. I don’t want to specify any brands, but most toothpastes available in supermarkets are not very good because they contain many chemical ingredients, like fluoride and foaming agents. The best choice is to buy fluoride-free toothpaste and more natural toothpaste from a natural health food store, which are less irritating to the gums. You can also choose natural toothpaste for sensitivity, but most importantly, do not choose fluoride toothpaste. Many studies have proven that fluoride is actually a poison and is detrimental to dental health. You might often see people around 50 years old with yellow spots on their teeth; these are fluoride spots. If you see someone having difficulty walking, it could be osteoporosis, which is often related to fluoride. So, it’s crucial to avoid using fluoride toothpaste.

Knowledgeable doctors and all supporters of natural therapies know this. This is the first key point about gum recession.

The second point is, if you have periodontal disease, you are likely to experience gum recession. Periodontal disease is not too difficult to resolve, but if you don’t take it seriously and rely only on medication or Western medical methods, it cannot be resolved. From a Western medical perspective, there’s no solution for gum recession except for surgery. Basically, it’s not treatable under normal circumstances. So, you need to pay attention to dental health. Oral hygiene is very important. If oral hygiene is neglected, and tartar accumulates, inflammation of the teeth and gums will increase. As shown in this picture, the gums often swell, accelerating the process of gum recession.

So, how can this problem be solved? There are actually several methods. First, you must pay attention to oral health. If you have periodontal disease or gingivitis, and often experience bleeding or swelling of the gums when brushing, you can try using aloe vera. You can buy aloe vera, blend the transparent part inside, and then apply it to the gums once or twice a day. Aloe vera has excellent antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. If you have swollen or bleeding gums, you can use it daily.

The second method is one I’ve taught before, called oil pulling. You can use a tablespoon or half a tablespoon of organic, cold-pressed coconut oil, swish it in your mouth, back and forth across your gums for 15 minutes, and then spit it out. The benefit of this method is that the cell walls of most bacteria and viruses are oil-soluble. Since there are many bacteria in the mouth, including good and bad bacteria, you need to maintain this balance. If you are inflamed, it is usually because there are too many bad bacteria. Using coconut oil can adsorb or eliminate the bad bacteria in the mouth, which is very beneficial for oral health. If you have gum recession, coconut oil can also provide nutrition for the gums.

In addition to aloe vera and coconut oil, there are other methods to clean the mouth. First, you need to stop the gums from being inflamed. The aloe vera and oil pulling method mentioned earlier can stop gum inflammation. Then, what methods can promote gum regeneration? Actually, if you are deficient in vitamin C for a long time, it can lead to gum bleeding. You might think there is no reason for a vitamin C deficiency, as you eat three healthy meals a day. But in reality, the nutritional content of food has greatly decreased, only about ten to twenty percent of what it was a few years ago. Therefore, even if you eat healthily, you may still be nutritionally deficient. This is due to modern farming methods and genetically modified foods. So, your vitamin C might not be sufficient.

So, if you try the two methods I just mentioned, aloe vera application and oil pulling, you might see improvement. If you think these methods are too much, you can try only oil pulling. Do oil pulling with coconut oil for 15 minutes every day. At the same time, try supplementing with vitamin C, about 1000 mg daily, for three consecutive months. I also want to recommend something called Coenzyme Q10, to be taken with vitamin C. You can try taking about 250 mg of Coenzyme Q10 daily for three months.

After trying these for three months, you may find that previous issues like gum bleeding or frequent swelling have improved. Especially for women, if the gums recede, the exposure of the tooth roots can affect appearance. After these treatment methods, you will find that the gums no longer continue to recede and may slowly recover.

Why recommend Coenzyme Q10? Because it is very important for gum regeneration. One reason for gum recession is the gradual shortening of DNA in the gums. Coenzyme Q10, as an enzyme, can help replenish the components needed for gum regeneration. If there is a lack of Coenzyme Q10, the gums cannot regenerate effectively. Most people with gum recession have lower levels of Coenzyme Q10. By supplementing Coenzyme Q10 and controlling inflammation, the gums may recover.

At least try for three months to see if the gums improve. If effective, you can continue supplementing with Coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C. Maybe after a year or two, your gums could fully recover.

To summarize, the methods to treat gum recession are: 1. Use aloe vera to apply to the gums; 2. Perform oil pulling daily; 3. Supplement with enough vitamin C for anti-inflammation and antioxidation; 4. Supplement with Coenzyme Q10. Using these four methods together can effectively improve gum recession issues.

Additionally, if gum recession is caused by osteoporosis, try supplementing with vitamins D and K. If you get half an hour of sunlight every day, you might not need to supplement vitamin D, but vitamin K is difficult to obtain from food, so you can supplement it directly. Regarding bone health, it’s not just about calcium, but also about vitamin K2 and D3.

If gum recession is caused by osteoporosis, you can combine the methods I just mentioned with vitamin D3 and K2 for treatment.
