Timeline#

It was 1998, at a Fashion Week party in Manhattan, when Donald Trump met Melania Knauss—a Slovenian-born model twenty-four years younger than him. He was fifty-two. She was twenty-eight. He was still technically married to Marla Maples at the time. That divorce wouldn’t be finalised until June 1999.

The relationship unfolded at its own speed. They dated for several years before Trump proposed in April 2004 with a fifteen-carat diamond ring reportedly worth $1.5 million. The wedding came on January 22, 2005, at Bethesda-by-the-Sea—the same Episcopal church in Palm Beach where Trump had married Maples just a decade earlier.

The Extended Absence (2018). After reports surfaced about Trump’s alleged affair with adult-film actress Stormy Daniels, Melania vanished from public view for nearly a month. What the Record Shows — And What It Does Not#
